Vision Sports Awareness Training
Vision Sports Awareness Training is designed to educate coaches, volunteers and teachers on Vision Impairment and how small adaptations to sport and physical activity sessions can make a huge difference to the experience of the participant with a vision impairment.

Tandem Pilot Training Course
The course has been developed to give cyclists the skills and confidence to pilot an individual who is blind, or vision impaired on a tandem bike.

Teachers
Vision Sports Ireland are working hard to develop education opportunities and resources for the education sector to give school staff the confidence to make small adaptations to their sessions and provide inclusive opportunities for all students with vision impairment.

Coaches
Vision Sports Ireland along with our NGB partners are committed to providing training and education opportunities for coaches across our all our sports to ensure all volunteers have the confidence and knowledge to create a positive safe environment for participants who are blind or vision impaired.

Parents
Vision Sports Ireland strives to support parents of children with a vision impairment to ensure they can provide their children with physical activity opportunities that are both accessible and enjoyable.

Research
In line with Sport Ireland’s Research Strategy 2021-2027, Vision Sports Ireland is working to play its part in generating, capturing and sharing insights of people who are blind or vision impaired, to better understand, respond and develop better solutions to the challenges in accessing and participating in sport and physical activity in Ireland.

Eyesight Classifications
Classification is an important tool to ensure that athletes are competing fairly with competitors with a similar level of vision, or other impairment.
