Event FAQ

When is the event?

The event is on May 25th and 26th.

Where is the event taking place?

Saturday May 25th

  • Come and Try Activity Day – UCD. 11am -4pm. Tickets cost €
  • Free Evening Social Event – Talbot Hotel Stillorgan. 7pm onwards. Free

Sunday May 26th

The day starts with a Golf Come and Try event at Stackstown Golf Club. The event will run from 11.45am -2pm. Participants will then split into their two different ticket groups.
The second part of the day is our family friendly event at Explorium National Science and Sports Centre from 2-4.30pm. This event is open to all ages.

What age do I have to be to take part?

There is no age limits for this event

What does my level of vision have to be to take part?

People who are blind or with any level of vision impairment are welcome to take part in the event as well as family and friends. Please Note that priority will be given to participants who are vision impaired on the day.


There will be transport provided throughout the event.


  • Shuttle bus from UCD Bus Stops around campus throughout the day.
  • Bus from UCD to the Talbot for Social Event, Departing UCD at 5:30pm.


A shuttle bus service will be in operation from Dublin Bus Stop Number 2977 (Pine Valley, Balinteer) or Dublin Bus Stop Number 5051 (Pine Valley, Balinteer) from 11:30am to 12:15pm.

Participants who wish to avail of transport must indicate in advance via registration at ticket purchase stage or but contacting us.

Should you require any support in planning transport, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.


  • Saturday UCD – No food is provided but there is a café on site which is open from 8am-6pm.
  • Saturday Social Event – Light finger food will be provided
  • Sunday – Lunch will be provided at Stackstown golf club which is included in the ticket. There will also be a café on site at Explorium.

Can I bring my guide dog

Yes, Guide Dogs are always welcome at Vision Sports events. Should you require the support of a 1:1 guide on the day, we are more than happy to provide you with a volunteer who will be able to look after the dog when you partake in activity.

Will there be a tandem cycling event this year?

Unfortunately, due to construction works in UCD, we are unable to host a tandem cycling event at this years Mayest event due to health and safety risks. There will be a stationary cycling challenge in hall A throughout the day.
